We work closely with our roaster community to collaborate on the coffees they are specifically seeking. We roast and cup together to grade and evaluate new offerings, this allows us to bring in coffees that are relevant to our roasters while exploring great new discoveries together. At ROOT 86, we work with you to find the greatest new coffees while also looking for value offerings to fit the economical challenges that face your business as a micro-roaster in Canada. This small farmer group harvest only ripe cherry, depulping on either the same day or the day following. Manual depulping is the most common method, with fermentation for 10-16 hours, dried for approximately 20 hours on patios

In the mountain forests of Guatemala’s Santa Rosa region, Finca Sabanetas has been home to coffee for more than a century. A multigenerational operation, operations at Finca Sabanetas are now in the hands of its founders’ great-grandchildren. It’s led by Marco Tulio Doando, who grew up among its coffee shrubs and carries a love for the plant in his own DNA.
