Nueva Granada is located in the department of San Marcos in northwestern Guatemala, on the Pacific Ocean along the western Guatemala-Mexico border. The climate is very variable within the department due to the dramatic differences in altitude.

Climate: the region experiences a warm, humid climate influenced by the Pacific Ocean, with high annual rainfall and earlier seasonal rains, leading to early flowering.
Elevation: coffee plants are grown at elevations between 1,300 to 1,800 meters, contributing to the unique acidity.

Soil: The rich volcanic soil provides nutrients and contributes to the coffee's flavor profile.
Processing: Due to the unpredictable rainfall during harvest, many farms utilize both sun-drying and mechanical drying techniques.

Varietals: Common Arabica varietals include Bourbon, Caturra, and Typica.
