Organic Mexico Chiapas Angel Diaz SHG - small farmer lot

Angel Diaz area in the Siltepec municipality of Chiapas, Mexico has cherry collections of smallholder coffee producers growing coffee in the rich upper reaches of the mountains. It is grown by a cooperative of smallholder farmers, such as the "Tierra Libertad" group, and is often associated with larger organizations like GRAPOS (Grupo de Agricultores Positivos S.P.R.). The GRAPOS organization was initially comprised of 90 producers, growing to 300 the following year, and expanded to the 2,708 producers involved today, 772 of which are females.
Located near the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO-protected area that contributes to unique microclimates ideal for coffee growing.

This small farmer group harvest only ripe cherry, depulping on either the same day or the day following. Sun dried for approximately 20 hours on patios
